• Wait, what do I need to buy? Blank postcards (see recs below) and stamps. Optional: colorful pens and stickers (coming soon).
• Stamps? Yep, stamps. Order special postcard stamps online from the USPS or go to your local post office. They’re cheaper — $0.56 instead of the $0.73 Forever stamps.
• How many postcards should I order? Expect the fastest folks to write 10 postcards per hour. Multiply that by the number of Hours of Action and the number of expected attendees. e.g. 5 Hours of Action with 15 attendees each = 750 postcards. Order more if you think folks will commit to work on them at home!
• Who am I writing to? Names, addresses, and scripts for voters who live in swing districts will be shared separately via a tracking spreadsheet in the Hour of Action Run of Show.
• How much does this all cost? At its cheapest, it’s approximately $0.70/postcard, or $7 per person per Hour of Action. Coming soon: Here is a one-pager with sample language so you and attendees can do some light fundraising to help cover costs.
